SaferWatch Recognized for Contribution to New York Bodega Safety at United Bodegas of America’s 5th Annual Gala

The United Bodegas of America (UBA) will host its 5th Annual Gala this Sunday, bringing together community advocates, leaders, and public officials to address critical safety concerns for New York City’s bodegas. This highly anticipated event underscores UBA’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of those who work in and rely on these essential neighborhood establishments.

Featured Guests Include:

• Danette Berry, mother of Nazim Berry, a bodega clerk tragically murdered in Crown Heights
• Oralia Abad Perez, survivor of a violent hammer attack at a Bronx bodega on June 6th
• Mayor Eric Adams
• Governor Kathy Hochul
• Congressman Adriano Espaillat
• Geno Roefaro, CEO of SaferWatch

UBA would also like to extend a special thank you to SaferWatch for their contribution to bodega safety. SaferWatch has equipped 50 bodegas and their employees with panic buttons, providing life-saving technology for workers in dangerous situations. By answering UBA’s call for support, SaferWatch has taken significant action to protect bodegas across New York City.
